Choosing the Right Strap Length

Use shorter straps for smaller trees and tight staking setups. Use longer straps when the tree has a larger trunk, a bigger root ball, heavier wind exposure, or when extra length makes installation easier.

8" Very small trees, light support, or compact staking setups.

12" Smaller newly planted trees, typically around 2" caliper or less.

16" Larger newly planted trees, roughly 2"–4" caliper.

20" Larger trees, bigger root balls, windy sites, or extra wrap length.

Installation Recommendation: Use 2–3 straps per newly planted tree depending on tree size, wind exposure, soil conditions, and staking method. For a cleaner and more visible professional staking system, connect the strap to wood stakes, steel T-posts, or ground anchors with HORT Tree Tie instead of bare wire, rope, or twine.
